Without getting into pro or anti nuclear arguments, I notice just the proposal to build a desalination plant on its own has enough problems, mostly from an aesthetic and land use perspective.

The north south pipeline was also strongly opposed but on environmental and economic grounds rather than aesthetic grounds - but that was solved by ignoring all Victorians except those who live in Melbourne, and giving no consideration to protecting Victoria's natural resources, farmland and agricultural and economic base.
