Northstar was developed in-house by IMR engineers. I have no doubt that most of IMRs IP lies in Northstar, even though it was developed at a much later time than its original technology. A similar MRI mapping technology was sold a couple years ago for close to a billion dollars.
IMR has previously talked about licensing this technology, but are being cautious on this option, as to not give away its IP. China has expressed interest in this, which would have be disastrous for the company.
