Rabbit, your solution is what I call the Spanish Solution. They expelled the Muslims (and Jews) in 1492. Not long after the Spanish Inquisition started because those expelled had the choice to convert to Christianity. Some converted truly but some remained Muslims or Jews secretly. The inquisition was to root out those who did not really convert but it then got messy.
