Thinking government regulators will be looking to process gas permits as quickly as practical.
Reported today in 'The West"
Santos Varanus Island gas hub has an underwater pipeline leak and will cut output dramatically for at least 6 weeks.
State opposition are saying there is a significant risk of power cuts at the start of summer.
Government saying all ok.
Fact is more gas is required for WA domestic market - I posted a couple of months back about a report issued by
Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO)
WA Gas Statement of Opportunities / Market Outlook to 2031.
In this report Lockyer Deep gas discovery is recognised and has been factored into future gas estimates - Many references to LD in this document and authorities definitely want Lockyer Deep gas to come online ASAP.
Can't get to drilling, then production quick enough, what a time State wise, Nationally & internationally for a gas discovery of the significance of Lockyer Deep to arrive.
So much more to come as the Perth Basin ramps up and heats up.
