Norwest primes Perth basin bit

Australia’s Norwest Energy is targeting to start drilling in the fourth quarter on two prospects with combined oil in place of 27 million barrels in the northern Perth basin TP/15 permit.
An airborne full tensor gradiometry (FTG) survey was recently completed over the permit to identify suitable well locations to test the Xanadu and Redhill prospects, according to Norwest.
Test wells on Xanadu and Redhill will be drilled from onshore sites using deviated drilling techniques. The prime targets are the High Cliff and the Wagina sandstones, sources for several producing fields including Roc Oil’s Cliff Head 10 kilometres northwest of Xanadu.
At least one and possibly both of these prospects will be drilled in 2010 after Norwest firms up a suitable rig. The Australian outfit is also in the midst of securing farm-in partners for the permit.
Ends.
Cheers, Pie (:
