News out of China is that battery maker Gotion High Tech – who boasts Volkswagen as one of its customers – has developed a new L600 lithium-manganese-iron-phosphate (LMFP) Astroinno battery with claims its range of 1,000km can be achieved on a single charge. That's twice the distance of the majority of today’s EV batteries.
The company claims the potential lifespan of the battery cells is about 4 million km, achieves 18 minutes of fast charging, and passes all safety tests.
Should the battery become commercially viable and manganese is a critical component, RR1's White Castles manganese project may become a valuable tenement.
