MTL - that is good that you are filling in the details and it does provide a bit more balance to the story. However now EL3856 is not an asset of Newcrest's as best as I can tell. And that is super bad news, this is more than just a nuisance issue.
I think NCM should be in a trading halt until we are given an idea of how much of Cadia East is no longer covered by a valid MLA, and how much of Cadia East's reserves, resources, production is affected or in question, and what possible costs there could be for production already sourced without a valid MLA if any, and what other contingent costs there could be.
I don't know if the relevant managers are in denial about this? Big money must be going into these court cases, and there must be a payoff (at NCM's expense) to Gold and Copper to make this action worthwhile, and I imagine G and C have an expectation of profiting from this.
