    A few statements:

"Buy quality stocks for long term! You wont lose if you do your own research and know why you are buying."

Noting that there's never an exact right time to buy into a stock.

There's nothing wrong with Oilyman's statement, but it could be more correct. In Nov you bought into a quality stock name BHP. It cost you $47 per share. So 1000 share totaling $47k.

Now looking at past charts, the value of shares have just risen. Yep a few bumps but otherwise and upward movement in value.

Now I waited until yesterday to buy my BHP at $36. So my 1000 cost me only $36k. So I used up the rest of my funds to equal the above number and bought an additional 305 shares with all the advantages that 305 shares brings me. Alternately I could have used the additional $11K to buy into another quality stock.

So I believe it's a case of ringing the most out of the market at all times. No one says you have to fork out your hard earned and let it stay in the market indefinately.

I'm mostly liquid and am looking to sell at a loss my last holding. Why? I believe I will be able to buy it back soon for a better price. That's the educated risk decision.
