I wouldnt call it a scam, Remlin, more like a stuff-up.
The problem is not in the renewal of the leases, as such, but due to the fact that the original leases did not give them rights to Uranium.
Over there, as under the previous WA Mining Act, you only have the right to the minerals you apply for.
If you find something that is not on your title, stiff bickies.
Our old mineral claim system had people putting the whole spectrum of minerals on there applications, from A-antimony to Z- Zircon. You could not remove gravel from the site unless you had specified "gravel'.
Same with Namibia, I have been told.
RTM then announced their Uranium find, and tried to "slip in" uranium onto the lease renewals.
Whether they will succeed or not remains in the lap of the Gods and the MME. I wouldnt like to call.
Technically, it is a breach of conditions, and the MME can refuse renewal and give the ground to someone else, I have been told, as they HAVE done on previous occasions when people have failed in compliance to the requirements.
Anyone who fulfills all their requirements has no probs, and has the protection of their legal system
This was explained to me by someone not long returned from there who deals with the MME.
so no scam, just that somebody made a "blooper".
Good luck to the holders.
