Video via VOIP is to follow, so the telcos will continue to make money, but not so easily as a monopoly that they were. If the telco's cannot survive with their fat, then they will be taken over; I presume that is why they are being privatised. Free to air television and newspapers suffered from new technology, but the world benefited. Even VOIP will be under threat from WiMax and similar technologies.
