MobiData-Group was established in 2000 with the strategic vision to develop software solutions and applications for the mobile communications market.
MobiData Group operates on a business to business, revenue share basis with our customers, providing our applications and solutions on a "white label basis" for customers to brand as they choose.

In addition to a suite of mobile applications for enterprise and consumer markets, the company has a leading edge software development capability. This includes writing software for most modern handset operating systems, such as Symbian, Brew, Microsoft CE and Palm.

The company also develops customised mobile solutions for individual customers that need to extend their networks to support mobile handsets.

All solutions are developed on open platforms to ensure they work in multi-carrier, hardware and operating system environments. The company owns Intellectual Property and has secured global system patents for its solutions and applications.

With head offices in Sydney, Australia. MobiData-Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fusia Ltd, a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX Code: FUS).

As a specialist developer of mobile products and solutions, MobiData Group technologies solve the challenge of deploying different mobile applications over multiple phone operating systems and complex IT architectures. With over four years of Research and Development completed, we have developed our technology platform to be handset operating system and network agnostic. In this way we can deliver a fully integrated suite of consumer and enterprise applications to any IP (Internet) connected mobile handset, employing any operating system across any 2.5G or 3G data networks – quickly, affordably and securely.

We call our technology platform the Mobile Services Hub. This architecture provides an integrated platform for deploying multiple applications. In addition to our existing suite of applications, it also enables development of new applications to order, typically within two to three months from briefing.

Our Mobile Services Hub is not just a sophisticated technology platform. It also provides our customers with a complete commercial model for incremental new business offerings over time to various market segments, from a single set of infrastructure.

We operate on a business-to-business, revenue share basis, with our products being offered as “white labels” for branding by our customers. We are based in Sydney Australia. Our solutions and commercial model are available internationally through selected channels.

    Innovation
MobiData Group’s mobile technology architects and software engineers are some of the most experienced in the world. We pride ourselves on our mobile software and technology capabilities. We work with all mobile operating systems (Symbian, Microsoft, UIQ, Brew and Palm), with the objective of unifying a fragmented and complex market, thus enabling the widest possible deployment of new applications to the broadest selection of handsets. This delivers the largest addressable market for our customers, thus maximising new revenue potential.

    Values
We are at all times, a customer focussed enterprise and understand the challenges of carriers and service providers in delivering profitable mobile services. We are driven by the needs of our customers and the mobile solutions they and their customers require. We operate with integrity and seek to build long term partnerships to develop insight and knowledge of our customer’s technology and commercial requirements.

MobiData-Group offers a unique applications and solutions platform around its Mobile Services Hub.

The Mobile Services Hub enables customers to deploy enterprise and consumer applications quickly, easily and affordably - typically within two to three months with no major capital outlay.

The Hub forms the core systems architecture for the solutions the company brings to market. The strategy is designed to enable organisations to deploy multiple applications with one mobile device – often in complex environments comprising numerous operating systems and hardware platforms.

MobiData-Group provides a range of solutions, including mobile contacts, mail and calendar backup with wireless synchronisation location based services, group messaging and sales force automation. See Products and Services.

MobiPod applications and solutions are sold primarily to mobile carriers, medium to large enterprises, Systems Integrators, Internet Service Providers, Commercial Service Providers and Mobile Handset Manufacturers that resell or deliver these services to consumers and employees.

The company operates on a business to business basis, and offers its products on a “white label” revenue share, or license fee per user basis.

    Software Development Systems
We develop our software using industry standard techniques and software tools.

MobiData Group utilises the Prince 2 Project Management methodology for large scale projects and Unified Process for its software design and development services.

The MobiData Group Engineering Centre houses a multidisciplinary team of specialists in design and development for the major platforms we support. Our development methodology (eXtended Unified Process) takes a web centric approach to development of software specifications and project management.

    Mobile Operating Systems
MobiData Group applications run on most modern GPRS handsets and operating systems, and most enterprise IT architectures. Operating systems supported include (but are not limited to) Java, Symbian (60 Series and UIQ), Microsoft PocketPC, Smartphone, Palm, BREW, Linux, UNIX and Windows. The company continually upgrades its solutions and technology as new phones and new versions of operating systems, come onto the market.

    Data Hosting and Network Operations
The MobiServer operates as an intelligent synchronisation server, identifying each type and model of mobile handset and ensuring data is transmitted in a format the handset can recognise and present to provide a uniform service offering across handset platforms. MobiServer utilises:

Open Standards Databases such as Oracle, Postgres and others for the storage of the user’s persistent data
A communication layer for the communication protocol to the mobile handset, HTTP or Socket based communications, encrypted where encryption is supported by the handset
An application layer for the different applications that are mobilised. For example, connection to external mail servers and the data abstraction required to push mail to the handset
Load balancing – The ability to add hardware to the tier that requires it and grow with the subscriber base
Redundancy – The ability to architect the servers to provide maximum up time and reliability
Segregation – The ability to separate applications and networks such that there is no crossover of information or process
The communication and application layer of MobiServer utilises the Sun Microsystems J2EE application development environment and can be delivered on any Java application server such as JBoss, IBM Websphere and Sun Microsystems Java Systems. The preferred delivery platform is JBoss.

MobiServer and its application server can be installed on any UNIX or UNIX variant server such as Sun Microsystems Solaris, Linux or BSD

The database is developed and deployed using Postgres. Any ANSI standard SQL database system that has a JDBC driver available such as Oracle or MS SQL is also functional. MobiServer uses a mixture of Java and HTML to ensure it is available to most web browsers.

    Security and Encryption
Security and encryption can be configured to meet different customer needs. The minimum requirement is the standard user name and password token authentication.

Should additional security be required this can be further tied to the user’s handset and SIM card. The authentication process can require the IMEI and SIM numbers to be sent by the application to further validate the user’s authenticity. These numbers are unique to each handset and are nearly impossible to replicate.

Wherever the handset environment supports it, data is encrypted during transmission using SSL, and uses a non-specific TCP/IP port that can be changed from communication to communication.

“For our mobile and enterprise customers, we seek to be the leading designer and developer of mobile data solutions and applications which deliver improved revenue per user for mobile carriers and productivity efficiencies for enterprise.”
