If I am a patch scientist, I won't say the patch flux 10 times more than a tablet as the tablet don't do any flux. Oh, you mentioned gel weighlifter, may be you still correct for that and may be doing some research for yourself why people make gel not patch for certain drugs. If I am a patch scientist for FMCG, I will compare the OBJ patch with a current commercial OTC patch. But then if I am wrong, what is the point of arguing proven or not proven. You may have your own definition on scientific proven (you love putting that on human skin to say scientific proven I guess). For me, as long as the patch is tested scientifically, it's proving the effectiveness of the patch to a certain stage of scientific research.
