The US uses the UN when it needs it and ignores it when it doesnt - that is the benefit of being a global hyperpower.
Europe, china russia and the rest of asia are the only real counter balance to US interference in global affairs - but we need the US also for its military and economic intergration. That said more respect should be given to the UN or perhaps greater US military technological and economic support. Plus perhaps signing the kyoto protocol. OR at least putting more $$$$ into new environmental technology research.
