Yes its a bad thing, people are encouraged to invest in property (as thats all the banks lend on) rather than business, innovation, development .
1/3 of money goes into paying the mortgage or rent, (banks) rather than to the people, whom would otherwise spend and circulate that money in their local community.
We are debt slaves and there is no easy way out.
