As for you,jebgabre, a PE of 22 times earnings is not"low" when you have a minelife at Century of 11 years and Roseby of only 4 years. The supposed bundle of cash it should throw out will be quickly consumed in long overdue maintenance,smelter refits etc that the banks deferred spending on.
On the question of selling some of the crappy smelters you cannot even give them away thanks to the attached environmental liabilities. For example, arguably the best smelter is Budel in Holland. PAS picked up the 50% it did not own in the mid 90's-the vendor paid PAS something like US$50 million to take it!
