On a superficial level, Pintohoo, I agree, it is exciting and in many ways the world will benefit.
I just wonder how we are going to keep people employed. No doubt many new jobs will evolve from all this progress, but I can see many millions left with either no work or menial jobs which can be just as soul-destroying.
Add to that the cost of social welfare - fewer people working, more people on jobless benefits and aged pensions for instance - and I can see real problems emerging.
But I don't claim to be a visionary so I'm probably wrong. The world has survived previous industrial revolutions and will probably survive this one, even if it is a very different way of doing business.
