If laterite's are too expensive to mine then the future of nickel is dead.

More to Heron's decision than just abandoning Jump up Dam altogether and have another read of the post by Rockford under this board.

As far as any Iron among Heron's vast tenement holdings then the very best of them are now sitting in Polaris's hands of which Heron holds a gig chunk as POL's major shareholder.

At current price you would want to hold in my opinion but then i am not a trader.
A lot more to like about Heron than only Jump up Dam (which is NOT a dead duck) and that is why you have BHP and Vale (CVRD) as majors on Heron's register!
