NTU is now under comment by "loyal" shareholders for a placement at 44 cents.

The sharemarket is about maximising value for shareholders by buying and selling shares and for companies by making the best decisions to advance the interests of the company which in time benefits shareholders.

Loyalty in the the market is conditioned by the share price - many would sell in an instant if the price jumped.

This is all about sour grapes - people perceive that they missed out on a share issue.

In my view if NTU had pitched a rights issue at 44 cents in this flaky market the price would have dropped like a stone to that level and the issue would have been a failure.

A responsibility of NTU is to fund its operations with the least amount of dilution - they have achieved a good result.
