    Section re severance offer half way down !!

    MEDIABAHANA.COM, WAJO — The Board of Directors of the Branch of the Mining and Energy Federation (FPE)
    of the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSBSI) of Wajo Regency, visited the Wajo DPRD Office to convey aspirations on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

    The arrival of this aspirant, received by Wajo DPRD Member from PAN Faction, H. Sudirman Meru who served as the aspirational receiving team.

    Chairman of DPC FPE KSBSI Wajo Regency, Abdul Kadir Nongko in front of the aspirational recipient team revealed some of the things that were highlighted by KSBSI to PT Energi Sengkang.

    First, PT Energi Sengkang does not provide the company's doctors permanently who specifically serve workers.

    In fact, according to Kadir, in accordance with the agreement between PT Energi Sengkang and Workers represented by KSBSI in August 2019, at one point it has been agreed that PT Energi Sengkang must prepare the company's doctor with a permanent contract.

    But what happened, continued Kadir, turned out that the company had not prepared a permanent doctor since the resignation of the company doctor several years ago.

    "We have agreed that the company is preparing doctors with permanent contracts. But what is happening now, the company is using doctors who serve in Lempa Health Center," he said.

    Kadir said, in the agreement it is clear that the doctor used is a doctor who has been certified in accordance with the law.

    "Should we let companies that seem to be toying with laws and agreements with workers? Worker safety should take precedence, especially the majority of workers are 90 percent of the local population, do not underestimate the workers inside. We see there is a mismatch in the management of PT Energi Sengkang," he said.

    The second thing that Kadir highlighted was the absence of a Safety Officer prepared by the company. The main task of the Safety Officer is to provide briefings and warnings to workers
    about work safety before workers start the activity.

    Kadir said, in accordance with the search conducted by KSBSI, to this day there is no Safety officer at PT Energi Sengkang.

    "For 3 years there has been no safety officer at PT Energi Sengkang, even though it is a large company. We always remind the company to appoint a Safety Officer to minimize work accidents," he said.

    Kadir detailed that during the 2-year time bracket, there have been 3 work accidents, 2 people in 2020 namely Mulyadi and Muslimin, and 1 person in 2021, namely Muh. Tahir.

    "Funnily enough, a work accident that occurred in 2020, only one was reported to Disnaker Wajo," he explained.

    Kadir also questioned the company's alleged intimidation of workers.

    "The company is alleged to have been bullying, the proof is, workers were banned from attending meetings with the union some time ago," he added.

    In addition to these 3 things, another thing that is highlighted by KSBSI is the severance offer made by the management to the workers before the contract expires.

    "Why does the company offer severance to workers, when the contract has not expired, what is this," Kadir said.

    Kadir also gave a warning to PT Energi Sengkang, if the contract expires, then there must be a party responsible for the workers.

    "If the contract expires, there must be a party responsible for the survival of the workers," Kadir said.

    Director of HUMAN RESOURCES of PT Energi Sengkang, Hasnaeni who was present in the delivery of these aspirations, said, PT Energi Sengkang had opened recruitment for company doctors.

    He said, there are 2 people who signed up, even been interviewed, they have also been offered salaries.

    "We've interviewed two people, but they don't want to accept a salary offer from the company. And at the time of the Corona pandemic, recruitment was stopped," he explained.

    In accordance with the worker's proposal, at that time, continued Hasnaeni, finally the company contracted doctors Puskesmas Lempa to back up the vacancy of the company's doctors. And now the doctor is re-contracted because he already has a certificate and a license to practice.

    Related to safety officers, hasnaeni said, the company deliberately delayed acceptance due to the corona pandemic.

    In 2020, Hasnaeni admitted that only one case had been reported to the company.

    "The company only received 1 report of work accidents in 2020," he said.

    The recipient of the aspirations of the Wajo DPRD, Sudirman Meru hopes that this problem can be solved by bringing together different points of view.

    According to him, the aspirations conveyed by KSBSI are a form of responsibility to employees.

    "Let's put a different perspective, don't look back. What KSBSI is doing today is a moral responsibility to workers," he said. (**)
