I saw some Japanese TV this morning (it was great). There was a major 15 mniute report in prime time on the national broadcaster, NHK, about the Shanghai car show. All the EV vehicle manufacturers were there. China is leading the way, and zero emission was a major factor (China's President says he wants to see blue sky again). Also, Europe's car industry is pushing ahead. There was a film clip showing an equivalent to the petrol station, but the service is a drive-through battery change. It showed how a specilised fork lift puts the forks under the car, the battery is released at the press of a button, the battery is removed by the fork lift, a fully charged battery is positioned under the car and engaged. Then the driver drives away with a totally recharged battery. The service is carried out in less time that it takes to fill a car with a tank of petrol. The energy station of the future - not "gas n go", its "charged n go"! (Cars also have the standard electric connections for charging in public places or in the home garage.) They also showed EV cars driving at 270 km/hr. Come on EMH, the future is yours. Hope the quarterly has news about the DFS?
