In the crowded hall of Tereziná lázní in Dubí na Teplicka, on the evening of Wednesday, September 6, the residents of the city heard plans for lithium mining in the forests near Cínovec. They were introduced by representatives of GEOMET and ČEZ. According to them, mining could begin within four years - provided they get all the necessary permits.
Dozens of people listened to the one-hour presentation. Not everyone could fit in the hall, so some watched the events from the vestibule or the window from the adjacent terrace.
The second hour was taken up by questions. Among other things, the locals were interested in how mining would affect the water supply or whether it would affect air quality.
