I can tell you that it was very much about the money leaving Czech Republic, that was the main argument put forward by the Babis Government/coalition. It was not about the expertise of the foreigner. It was all smoke and mirrors about a rogue Australian miner coming to steal our natural resources and to pollute our country. There are like x18297128 articles written about it in Cz media in 2017 (most of them are complete fear mongering).

That was the main drive behind the EMH/CEZ merger and development of the Memorandum, so how is it any different now? It is not. The same arguments will be brought up as per the recent publications.

Evoking anger or some sort of emotional response in the general populations about some outsider entity (foreigners, neighbouring country, the Chinese, Russian oligarchs, Democrats, Republicans etc) taking their resources/money/jobs/women/education/environment etc away is a very easy political play and it gets played out in politics around the globe every year, just name a country.
