BMW: has plants all around the Czech Republic (Saxony, Thuringia, Bavaria). (FYI: Also this here in the Czech Republic https://www.automobil-industrie.vogel.de/bmw-testzentrum-sokolov-automatiertes-fahr-a-f32c04f2450f25347aa6199399fbff6e/) Lithium: So far intentions with European Lithium, they don't seem that advanced to me despite the presence of a DFS, and the depot in Austria is rather small. They say it'll be converted in Saudi Arabia, what's the point of that?? So BMW would make sense for me.
Mercedes: Has agreed with Rock Tech Lithium to deliver lithium from its eastern Canadian mine. But it's making little or very slow progress due to lack of m$ney, just like RTL's planned converter in Germany. RTL is apparently still looking for suppliers for this coverter - if it is ever built. However, it would be just a small distance from Cinovec. A decision concerning the converter is expected at the end of Q1 (I have speculated about a connection/talks between RTL and EMH here before). This, and the fact that Mercedes has battery plants in Saxony and of course auto plants in Germany, also makes it a suspicious partner for me.
A word about Zinnwald, latest status: approval process by the German authorities takes longer than expected. Heavy protests from residents. I don't think CEZ wants to commit to this at the moment, except perhaps some loose declarations of intent about road expansion for joint transport or something similar
The new German special fund for subsidies of 1 billion euros mentioned by KC in the interview also applies abroad, so I think he is on the right track (did I actually just write that, haha).
