There has been no rush for this project. The original demand was spurred on by China producing the first Gen1 batteries. Its really only been since the last year all the big car makers have been coming out with concrete statements about jumping in on the EV bandwagon.
Its been a blessing in disguise our political delay, as we will now compete (easily i feel ) with the exisiting spodumene producers who have to go through more steps and costs to produce battery grade Hydroxide. The majors are just only getting ready to ramp up, look at the recent news flow from Volkswagen. They are going to hit it very hard, and i feel they will blitz the quality of the existing batteries that are being used now. They killed the Pikes Peak record by alot. You see how much power that battery packs!!!! Do yourself a favour and watch it.
They have been investing this space for a long time, "The ID R has batteries that are "way ahead" of anything currently on the streets, according to Smeets. There is alot of articles out there on it.
As far as the substantial holders jumping ship, it would have been done long ago....
I feel we are being guided by higher forces here!!!!!!
