    As for "so if he is going to complain about the lockdown, then it is only reasonable that he as a minimum puts up an example of what he thinks should be occurring", I think the grave errors are self-evident:

    The hotel quarantine biosecurity measures were so bad as to constitute an egregious derelict of duty and the tracing abilities of Victorian Health authorities were never ahead of the game at any stage.

    As for the Victorian Premier unilaterally stating, without any substantive explanation, that he retains the prerogative to maintain the lockdown for a further 12 months; well, this isn't North Korea or Zimbabwe or Venezuela where political leaders do whatever they please without impugnity.

    This is a democracy.

    And in democracy there exists transparency, consultation, co-operation and accountability.

    Not obfuscation, shape-shifting, blame apportioning or draconian authoritarianism.
