    Hi Dabble
    And yes it is interesting.
    Fortescue does not have the reputation of being overly supportive of contractors who vie for the secure tier one contracts BUT times have changed .
    It obviously does not want to be seen to invest in diesel equipment with a decade or more of use as it is transitioning to green power ?
    There’s value in that?
    WA is also subject to supply chain shortages as far as bringing any new equipment into the state and also massive worker shortages .
    I think these three factors put a certain degree of power into the hands of those looking to win the contract;
    -A ‘danger money’ loading should apply?

    MACA’s Downer acquisition has spent years working the Karara magnetite project with equipment presumably at or near the end of its’ life (as NRW which is taking over the contract is doing so with new equipment that was ordered last year).

    I think one reason MACA may be a favourite (as per that story) is this old ex-Karara equipment may be able to be deployed to Iron Bridge so as to get production going until new stuff arrives ?
    …. New ‘stuff’ possibly powered by EV?

    Cheers
