There seems to be alot of chat re the actual figures involved in any Applera settlement.

Here's a bigger picture....

The fact is that after 3 years of litigation, Applera seems poised to settle.

That in itself suggests to me that any issue of 'patent validity' will be settled once and for all.

I expect this will then result in a stream of 'interested parties' eager to purchase a licence.

GTG has already stated that they have identified over 500 companies that they believe require a licence, and without one, are potentially infringing GTG's IP.
