I always thought marriage was about putting pressure on the one that fathers a child to fund its upkeep, so that others didn’t have to carry the burden.
Strangely enough the first Catholic Priest to come to Australia was at the instigation of the local Protestant community........... they wanted someone to dish out the guilt and obedience to the Catholic Church’s ways for all those lapsed Irish Catholics.
Life is full of twists and turns.
The Church and Religious roles have pretty well been usurped by Big Government.............. that’s probably why Governments are now so corrupt.
