The statistics for mineral exploration drill holes are something like 1:10,000 green fields exploration drill holes makes a significant discovery, the company released very limited photos of several centimetres of drill core, and some people got carried away and interpreted these photos as evidence for hundreds of metres of economic mineralisation. When the actual assays came back, it was confirmed that the mineralisation was very limited in extent, to the point where a reasonable person would say that the core photos were "cherry picked" and were not representative. Many people raised the possibility of this turn of events. Its all there in the threads that you have been reading.
