    you mention boredom
    death is imminent and uncertainty follows, yet we seem to spend much of our time neglecting this precious opportunity.
    perhaps the key is so simple that many miss it because it is seen as boring.
    we encounter so many challenges in this life and feel good when they are overcome, yet many (including myself) are not very keen to persistantly confront the most important challenge.

    just happened to watch an episode of packed to the rafters and the older guy said something like, life is like bubbles, they go up and down, up and down, and then they go pop.
    the quest is surely realization of what doesn't go up and down and doesn't go pop.
