anyone think Thodey should see if he can find a way for TLS to be able to 'afford' to keep those 6000 CEPU jobs?
i personally think that say $11B for a copper network should allow those jobs to be saved. which would keep union happy, and allow ALP to honour NBN promise to independents.
Perhaps some of that money could be spent on training (retraining?) those 6000 into customer service functions? which would allow jobs to be kept in Oz doing stuff that TLS has said it wants to do a whole heap more of.
presumably too simple a solution
