While flicking through the flotsam and jetsam of announcements from childcare operator G8 Education, CBD could not help but notice something curious about the substantial shareholder linked to G8 managing director Chris Scott.
As reported on Wednesday, some time after Scott transferred ownership of a company called Geosine to the mysterious Kimberley Lin, the company appeared as a substantial shareholder in G8 with more than 20 million shares.
No cash changed hands, according to the ASX filing, as the notice was triggered by a "change in trustee" for the shares.
No subsequent notice clarified where this 7.4 per cent G8 stake came from, and G8 did not return calls on the matter
