Mongombolo: I think the main driver is the need to feel special by knowing some secret truth about the mysteries of the world that is not known to the other 'sheep' or 'sheeple'
And I think part of it is a desire to know the exact reasons why events occur. Where they cannot find out, the imagination runs wild.
