Pier, im no master at coding strategies but im amazed at how strategies can change depending on important variables such as trailing stops, position size and stoplosses. as for what some1 said b4 regarding becoming skewed with position sizing is very true, any system i make is all about the equity curve and as little draw down as possible.
But yeah back to the original point, some strategies ive played with would be unprofitable over 5 years or whatever time frame im using, but are very profitable if i change certain variables, most importantly, trailing stops and taking profits when they are there rather then going for the million bucks in 1 hit...
