Yes memories,you couldnt even smoke five streets away without word getting back to mum.

I preferred a slap from dad as his hands were tough and bounced off,hers stung like ell
We drank water out the tap,there was no coloured water health drinks
If the copper caught you he kicked your backside and then you got a clip round the ear from your own dad for getting kicked by the copper.
Service stations were where you went to get service. A mechanic was always there to fix your car and get you restarted.If you broke down on the road you could hitch a lift or send word ahead and he would come out to you
You got your tank filled,water and oil checked AND a windsreen wipe.
But they did away with that to save US money and the price has never stopped going up since
You could walk in and buy oil,globes,fan belts,fuel cans,wipers,valves,batteries,spark plugs,points,HT leads,oil caps and a host of other essentials.
Today ? nothing But you can get hamburgers,dog food,coffee,soap,cereal and anything else not related to your farkin car
