We need to correct some reporting here. BHP's expansion of OD is forecast to consume 10% (not 50%) of SA base load power. Quoting from The Australian, May 1, written by Jamie Walker, it says
"The additional 650 megawatts of power required for the expanded mine, amounting to about 10 per cent of South Australia's entire demand for baseload electricity, would be met by either a new transmission link from Port Augusta tapping into the national power grid, or a gas-fired power station built."
Regarding PH not being Tier 1, I do not really care. It is a mine that will generate approx $154M Nopat. Still sounds good to me.
