Hello not very competitive photography people …

This morning at the beach it was silvery with cloud and maybe mist or smoke (or both).


And it was a bit empty, bar a woman  who had just climbed  out of the sea and was slowly turnimg to ice whilst she watched two  other brave swimmers (it was 9 degrees and they were out of frame )

And after we chatted a bit and her dog reinforced that it was NOT going to play with my teenager ‘pup’ I walked quite a long way down the beach to near where the horses come down and found …

a little FISH!


… not surprising you might think - seeing as it was a beach an’ all.

But what did surprise was when the pup decided to investigate what I was hovering over and put her nose to it and it writhed away from her.
She jumped, and looked surprised
I jumped, and looked surprised
.. And as you can see the fish just looked resigned and a bit glum.

I scooped it up and returned it to the sea and I don’t know if it  survived or not.
If it has - seeing as it was a golden fish - I guess I get to make a wish?

Does anyone know what it is?
