Waling around Beewah golf course and spotted this nesting curlew; a stoney probably. Staff had roped the area off and unfortunately didn't realise the piece of branch behind it was going to ruin the photo. Without the blue tape would have walked right past.
All these years and I have never seen a platypus in the wild. Until yesterday, 10am and in full sun. Just after a walk in the wild had come back into Maleny and was on a boardwalk along Obi Obi Creek and with Woolworths 50m just on the other side. Had already been spotted by a couple with cameras, and of course I had left my camera at home. Fortunately, the friendly macaw had a phone and she got this. You can see the mud churn from the frequent fishing dives. Entertained for the best part of an hour. And apparently was there the day before. So much for the protracted fight Woolies had to go through because their supermarket was going to drive these little fellas away.
