The reasons are as many as the grains of sand on the beach schnowzer, I've sold shares at a ridiculous loss in stalled stocks before in order to get in on the action on a hot deal knowing that I could buy back in in a couple of weeks time at a slight premium to the price I sold for. The loss was just a right off against gains and in the long run I still came out ahead. There really was no loss just less of a gain in one stock and more in another.

Some people may just need the money now, some may be disheartened by the constant barrage of gloom, some may want a new Flatscreen.
