to be recognised as a trader...from what the accountant told me...and gave me the same download that orga posted....it really depends on number of trades..he was confident as i had over 100 for the year the ato would accept a trading statement with open and closing balances and the difference being profit or loss..(had no cgt exempt stocks anyway)..simplifies matters somewhat...and claimed the extra expenses...only provisio was...not to have a dedicated office in the house...as long as it can be used for residential purposes as well...no affect on house if you were to move abodes in the future.
