Tend to agree, it wasn't needed. The bit about no need for a CR for 12 - 18 months was rather amusing, that's a big call to make and commit to. Perhaps what they should have said was that at the current cash burn rate they can forsee current works successfully progressing for at least the next 12 months.
They need to focus on their strategic plan and deliver to it and restrict "ham it up" announcements otherwise they will end up with a reputation they don't want.
