anyone who thinks that SDL will always have the upper hand and be able to strike the best possible deal for shareholders might be in for a shock. It would pay people to have a look at what has transpired with GDO over the last few weeks. Virtually stolen off shareholders today by the Chinese for 55 cents. Started with them taking a 17% in one go at 53 censt, we watched baffled as the sp dropped to 39, then recover to 43 where a "generous" offer of 55 cents a share is made. Sounding familiar. I'm not saying this is how it will go for SDL but old Chinese saying..... more than one way to skin a cat. Anyway dyor on that one.
The Chinese are striking big deals all over, and in Africa where GDO are, but they know how to get things cheap and no consideration for the lowly shareholder whatsover.
