I actually just rang the Co. He didn't expect an ann today and said tuesday was the most likely. Said timing was unfortunate given the SPP but they are obligied to halt. I told him of my reservations in taking up the SPP in light of the uncertainty of the Ann (e.g. could be a placement at 10c) and he said "the shares will always be on sale so if in doubt don't take up the SPP and wait until it reopens" But also said that the Co is very pro-active in disclosing info that is likely to have a substaintial impact on the SP - suggesting that the placement wont be at a very cheap level. (Probably around the 11.5c is my guess still). Obvioulsy SP tends to move towards the placement price and some may sell down due to dilution too. So still a hard decision wether to take up the SPP or not!
