My take is they mention it because the study is likely to be underpowered for mortality and so a non statistically significant result doesnt actually tell us much with regard to mortality. they then go on to talk about how important the bio markers are...and I agree.

Bottom line the result for mortality can be not significantly different (but clearly underpowered) with convincing bio markers and the drug is still a candidate.

Don't get me wrong I think this company is great and nothing Ive said should imply stupidity on the part of NEU.
