Notre Dame

I just read an article where there was a lot of criticism about the French Billionaires who pledged money for the restoration towards Notre Dame but haven't put up any money yet.

What occurred to me was the total hypocrisy of the whole situation; not regarding the billionaires but more to do with the Catholic Church.

Without a doubt, the Catholic Church is the richest institution on the planet. Why aren't they paying for it themselves?

Biggest landowners on the planet, income from so many sources it is crazy, more art, precious metals and jewelry than you can imagine and then they don't even have the decency to repair one of their most iconic buildings at their own cost.
Oh, did I mention that it is all tax free as well.

Charity begins at home but it is even better when you can other people to pay for it.
