The gap is at 13c-16.5c and no, they don't have to get filled. When company making announcements occur you can get a 'Gap n Go' situation where SP gaps up on the announcement and keeps trending up from there as push indicators are ticked off.
For this gap to get filled I would say the project would have to be put on hold or found to be uneconomic. Neither is likely in my opinion. Barring a GFC2 I think that gap will remain.
