To clarify, personally, I categorise anything outside the top 300 as a spec stock. So we are talking under 1B cap. Again, it is about risk tolerance being different for everyone. It doesn't mean I am not investing, simply not allocating a large percentage in them, while accumulating as the company 'derisks'.

The next level of derisk for me for EYE obviously is a positive earnings result. Another point, without getting too much into personal finances, but on the % allocation, I count my Super in the calculation, even though I don't run a SMSF. I do a rough estimate on what 2-3% is. And if one of the speccies does run, I use the entry points for calculating the position size. Otherwise I would need to reduce to maintain it at 2-3%. Some do this strategy of reducing when an SP increases though as a more conservative approach.

Looking forward to the half yearly to see how close we are to break even. Exciting times.
