Extremely poor compliance with drops is not the only reason why we are rapidly seeing doctors adopting interventional glaucoma management (ie MIGS). There are many reasons doctors are beginning to shift to earlier intervention via minimally invasive surgery as opposed to the traditional approach of prescribing decades of drops first. Ocular surface disease (OSD) is believed to occur in around 60% of people using glaucoma drops and can be very debilitating (even causing blindness, the very thing drops are supposed to prevent!). Yet another reason why doctors are rapidly shifting towards devices like iTrack Advance which allow earlier intervention with minimal to zero downside. Doctors are quickly realising how important it is to attack this disease early.
