This is just speculation but to have a high achiever join our $50m Aussie company i.e. Joy McNew , is flattering. Perhaps and this is speculation on my behalf, perhaps we have made progress on the 2RT area and we need such a person to take it forward for us. AMD treatment is one of the most expensive drug areas in the developed world. To be involved in a multi billion ophthalmic treatment area would be attractive to Joy.
