Agreed eye drops are not much fun I have to use 3 in my left eye daily & they sting and make my eye red. It's better than going blind though !!The more drops you use the greater the risk of irritation. I'm in my 50's so capable of applying them correctly but many people don't. I initially had a stent which worked fine then just stopped working, then I had SLT laser which worked well & is still working fortunately you can have it a number of times. I will do anything to avoid the trabeculectomy as there are huge risks of complications associated with it.
I'm due to see my specialist in May so I'll be grilling him on what he knows & thinks about canaloplasty.
